Logic Pro quickstart

Get DawForge working with Logic Pro — build articulation sets, use the knowledge base, and control articulations from your phone.

DawForge's map editor and knowledge base work end-to-end with Logic Pro today. Flow's live track-selection bridge is Cubase-only for now — see Flow — Logic (beta) for the status. This page covers the parts that work.

Step 1 — Add your first library

Go to Search and browse the catalogue. When you find a library you own, click Acquire to add it to your personal library. Acquired libraries unlock KB patch creation and appear in Maestro recommendations.

Step 2 — Build (or import) an articulation set

  1. Open Search, find a patch for a library you've acquired.
  2. Click Create map from this patch on the patch detail card.
  3. DawForge generates a draft with every articulation as a row, outputs pre-filled based on the library's switch type.
  4. Review, rename, reorder — the editor is the same as the Cubase map editor, but only the fields Logic understands matter to you (name, output type, output value, MIDI channel).
  5. Click Save.

Import an existing .plist

If you already have Articulation Sets in Logic:

  1. Go to /map-editor/import and drop in the .plist file (or a .zip containing several).
  2. DawForge maps Logic's Note On / Controller / Program Change types to its own output rows.
  3. Edit as needed, then save.

Step 3 — Export to Logic

From any saved map, click Download → Logic (.plist). DawForge writes a standard Articulation Set file.

To load it in Logic:

  1. Open the Smart Tempo inspector for a Software Instrument track — or right-click the track header and choose Edit Articulation Set.
  2. Click the Articulation Set slot → Import Articulation Set.
  3. Pick the .plist file you downloaded.

Articulations appear immediately. Assign them to notes in the Piano Roll using the Articulation lane.

Step 4 — Articulation switching from your phone

Flow's track-selection isn't available for Logic yet, but the Mobile companion works with any DAW that can receive MIDI from the DawForge Bridge port. You can use your phone to fire articulation switches at whichever Logic track is focused.

What's next for Logic

A constrained Logic flavour of Flow — articulation switching on the focused track without name-based selection — is on the roadmap. No ship date yet. Signal your interest via the contact form on dawforge.com; interest affects sequencing.
